These signal flags are used for various signaling to
provide information to other ships such as the following example:
The Bravo flag when hoisted on
a ship signifies that the ship is taking on fuel or other hazardous
material.
The Zulu flag is know historically
to the Japanese as the flag that Admiral Togo hoisted during the
Battle of Tsushima during the Russo-Japanese War.
